FURITEK team in the past 2 years have been designed and produced several brushless ESCs for mini crawlers with the famous LIZARD line of ESCs. Being the first FOC-technology ESCs ever being designed and produced for the mini crawlers, the LIZARD ESCs have changed the games for the mini crawlers. They are super small in size, butterly smooth and amazingly powerful. Together with the famous brushless outrunner KOMODO motors, they offer incredible performance for the mini crawlers.

However the team is not stopping; after over 6 months of testing and designing, FURITEK team releases another next evolution of the FURITEK ESCs, the high-end, upper performance line of brushless ESC for mini crawlers. Introducing the new FURITEK PYTHON brushless ESCs that inherited the awesome features above of the LIZARD ESCs but now with new enclosing case for dust proof and waterproof. We no longer have to worry about the brownout of the big servos or heavy weight of some modified trucks with huge 5A built-in BEC that can be run at multiple voltage from 5.5V to 7.4V for Python and up to 8.4V for the Python PRO. We also no longer need to wire a separate bigger BEC for the ESC. The FURITEK team also releases a completely new patent-pending brushless inrunner motor, the CEDAR. The CEDAR brushless inrunner motor is super smooth, waterproof and dustproof and easy to be installed in any mini chassis.

Awesome

So much power from such a little package

Not bad but a few issues

I fitted the Furitek Torpedo combo to my TRX4M K10 truck using the stock TRX4M gears and have had a mixed experience with it:

The good: FOC is superb. Hardware installation was nice and easy. Everything fits as it should.

Slow speed control is just amazing.

Top speed is pretty high great fun on the trails since the TRX4m is a fairly capable chassis even at speed.

The bad: With stock gearing, I get quite a lot of cogging when trying to crawl over technical obstacles.

For some reason reverse is way (way) faster than forward. The Throttle page in the app tells me I have forward and reverse both hitting 100% but I need to set reverse at 50% maximum to get it to be just a little slower than forward at 100%.

The app has been pretty flaky. When I try to run a calibration, it doesn't work at all. Reverse is unchanged but forward becomes digital. Either 0% or 100%. I have to factory reset the ESC to fix this every time I try to calibrate.

Feels like it could be a nice product when a few more of these bugs are worked out.

Torpedo for a Ripper

Being my first small scale truck, I figured I'd go all out. It had to be a Furitek Torpedo. I'm still working on tuning the settings in the ESC. Bluetooth connectivity is fantastic. It's extremely smooth and quiet while operating at low speeds. Very satisfied.
